Launched last month the campaign aims to get inidividuals, companies and institutions to reduce their carbon footprints by 10% during 2010. The campaign is backed by a coalition of the Guardian, a range of Non Governmental Organisations, companies and the Carbon Trust.
The campaign is based on the fact that while longer term emission targets are established the need to act quickly is becoming increasingly clear and that emissions must start to fall in the next few years.
A good deal of advice is being offered on how individuals can reduce their carbon footprint. A mass sign-up event was held at The Tate Modern to launch the campaign and the 10:10 website can now be used by individuals and companies to sign up for the campaign which is the brainchild of Franny Armstrong the director of Age of Stupid.
